Question : Appointment-Recruitment of Officials-Staff by AAI

(a) whether a number of retired employees of Airports, Authority of India (AAI) have been re-employed or kept on contract basis in AAI, if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether AAI has recently appointed nearly 40 officials of the Government such as clerks, stenographers, electricians, PAs,

etc., to perform the duties of airport security at various airports;

(c) if so, the details thereof, airport-wise and the reasons therefor;

(d) whether AAI has proposed to recruit officials/staff due to its expansion plan and personnel required for the same;

(e) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and

(f) the time by which recruitment/ appointment process is likely to be completed?

(a): Yes, Madam. Airports Authority of India (AAI) has re-employed 35 consultants on contract basis.;

(b): No, Madam.;

(c): Does not arise.;

(d): Yes, Madam.;

(e) & (f): In order to augment the manpower requirement of AAI for timely completion of various development projects at several airports across the country, AAI has commenced the recruitment drive to fill up approximately 2100 posts by 2016-17 in different cadres such as ATC, CNS, Engineering., HR, Finance, Operations, Planning, etc.
