(a) whether the Government has set up any committee to change/alter the royalty rates specified for coal;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the impact on the power tariffs due to the royalty rates specified during the last three years; and
(d) the other steps taken/being taken by the Government which will lead to reduce the power tariffs?

(a) & (b) Ministry of Coal has constituted a study Group on 21.07.2014 to consider the revision of rates of royalty on coal and lignite. The Study Group was headed by Special Secretary(Coal) comprising of representatives from Ministry of Mines/Power, FICCI, FIMI, Coal PSUs etc.
(c) & (d) The information is being collected and will be laid on the table of the House.
