(c) whether their research results are being monitored/verified by any Government agencies; and

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) As ascertained from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, which is the nodal Department of Biotechnological Research in the country, there are 23 companies in the agricultural sector using biotechnology. All the 23 companies are pursuing commercial research in agriculture using biotechnological tools. List of the companies are enclosed in Annexure-I.
(c) & (d) : Research Results are being monitored by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology and Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India in collaboration with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
