Question : RENTAL HOUSING SCHEME

(a) whether the Government is planning to provide rental housing facilities to migrant work force and employees in cities/towns;

(b) if so, whether the aforesaid scheme will be run by the local authorities, including municipal bodies;

(c) if so, the details thereof;

(d) the criteria fixed for inclusion in rental housing scheme;

(e) whether any Central Funding will be provided to implement the aforesaid scheme; and

(f) if so, the share of Union Government therein?

(a) to (f) : No Madam, in pursuance of the Government’s goal of providing houses to all by 2022 as announced in the President’s Address to Joint Session of both the Houses of Parliament on 9th June, 2014, this Ministry, however, is in the process of seeking approval to a Mission on ‘Housing for All’ aimed for urban areas.
