Question : WELFARE AND REHABILITATION OF MENTALLY HANDICAPPED

(a) the number of applications received for setting up of new projects for the welfare and rehabilitation of mentally handicapped from the State Government of Maharashtra during the last two years till December 31, 2001;

(b) the number of projects cleared so far;

(c) the financial assistance provided for these projects;

(d) the number of applications still pending for approval; and

(e) the time by which all the projects are likely to be cleared?

(a) to (e) 10 applications have been received till December of 31, 2001 of which 7 projects have been sanctioned for a total amount of Rs. 6.95 lakhs and 3 applications are pending. The remaining proposals are pending for want of documents and clarifications on certain points etc. These will be considered for clearance when all deficiencies are removed.
