(a) Whether the Government proposes to take up any integrated action plan
for resolving problems affecting cash crops in the country especially in Kerala ;
(b) If so, the details thereof ;
(c) Whether the Union Government has any plan for cashew industry in Kerala ; and
(d) If so, the details thereof ?

(a)&(b) : Yes, an Integrated Action Plan for replantation/ rejuvenation programme for
pepper, cardamom and cashew for XIth Plan is being formulated by Ministry of Commerce
with the National Horticulture Mission to boost production and productivity of these crops
in the country including Kerala State.
(c) & (d): Area expansion under cashew and replantation of senile areas of cashew over an
area of 75,000 ha and 1,00,000 ha respectively, is proposed to be covered under Integrated
Action Plan during a period of five years in all cashew growing States including Kerala to
boost production and productivity of cashew in the country and also to sustain the cashew
industry.
