(a) whether the Government has proposed to monetise data information like passenger preferences, ticketing patterns and commodity flows by providing it to interested players;
(b) if so, the details of the proposed scheme;
(c) whether the Government has constituted any committee for this purpose and if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Government has made any consultation with various stakeholders in this regard; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Monetization of data, software, IRCTC website and some of the free services provided by Railways such as PNR enquiry is one of the components of non fare revenue envisaged in the Minister of Railways’ Budget Speech 2016-17.
(c) Yes, Madam. A Committee has been formed comprising officers of Railways and Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), on 10/06/2016.
(d) & (e) Consultation with stakeholders is an integral part of the work of the Committee.
