(a) & (b): No, Sir. However, the ESI Corporation in its 129th meeting held on 17.12.2004 adopted the Ministry of Health, Government of India`s CGHS guidelines to define `dependent parents` as those whose monthly income from all sources is less than Rs.1500/- p.m. and who are residing with the insured person, for providing medical care. Under the ESI Scheme, there is no financial ceiling for providing the extent of medical treatment to such dependent parents.
(c) & (d): ESI Hospitals are providing treatment in basic specialities. Super speciality treatment is provided to the ESI beneficiaries through tie-up arrangements with reputed Government/private hospitals. The ESI Corporation has taken a decision to set up four zonal super speciality centres for providing super speciality treatment to ESI beneficiaries.
