Question : PMAY-G in Maharashtra

(a) the total number of houses completed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) during the financial year 2020-21 in the country particularly in the State of Maharashtra;

(b) the details of the hurdles faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps taken to address the same;

(c) the total number of complaints received under Centralized Public Grievance Redress And Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) during the last year regarding PMAYG from the State of Maharashtra; and

(d) the total number of houses sanctioned in Financial Year 2021-22?

(a) A total of 34,00,006 houses have been completed under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) during the financial year 2020-21 in the country including1,81,766 houses of the State of Maharashtra.

(b) During the period of Covid-19 pandemic induced nation-wide lockdown, all construction activities including construction of houses under PMAY-G were also affected. It resulted in retarding the pace of construction of PMAY-G houses. The States/UTs have been requested to expedite the completion of houses approved under PMAY-G. Other steps taken including timely allocation of targets to the States/UTs under PMAY-G, provision of adequate funds and promotion of eco-friendly &innovative technologies for house construction, follow up with the States to ensure provision of land to landless beneficiaries in rural areas, expeditious resolution of technical issues faced by the States, advisory to all States/UTs to resume activities under PMAY-G with due Covid-19 protocol and regular review of progress at the level of Ministry to ensure timely completion of targeted houses.

(c) A total of nine complaints have been received under Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) during the last year regarding PMAYG from the State of Maharashtra.

(d) During the financial year 2021-22, as on 29.7.2021, countrywide 7,99,352 numbers of houses have been sanctioned under PMAY-G.
