Question : ESI HOSPITALS

(a)the details of Employees State Insurance (ESI) hospitals in the country at present, State-wise;

(b)whether the Government has any proposal to open a few new ESI hospitals in the country including Maharashtra and Kerala;

(c)if so, the details and the present status thereof along with the funds likely to be provided for the said project;

(d)if not, the reasons therefor;

(e)whether the Government has any proposal for upgradation or modernization of the existing ESI hospitals in the country including in Kerala; and

(f)if so, the details thereof?

(a): State-wise details of Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital in the country are at Annex - I.

(b) & (c): Yes, Madam. The details of new ESI Hospital proposed to be opened alongwith present status and amount likely to be provided are at Annex-II.

(d): Does not arise, in view of reply to part (b) & (c) of the question above.

(e) & (f): Yes, Madam. The details of ESI Hospitals which are proposed for renovation/ up-gradation in the country are at Annex -III. However, there is no proposal for upgradation/renovation of ESI Hospital in Kerala.
