MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI S. REGUPATHY)

(a) to (c): Yes Sir. The Chief Minister of Delhi has represented that steps should be taken to strengthen sense of security among women. The action taken by Delhi Police in this regard include constitution of Women Mobile Team to attend to urgent and serious calls from women round the clock; deployment of police personnel in plain clothes at vulnerable places to curb eve-teasing and molestation; organization of self-defence training programmes; posting of a lady Police Constable in PCR vans patrolling the prominent women college etc. In addition, the Crime Against Women Cell and crisis Intervention Centres are functioning in all Police Districts. A four-digit toll free help line number 1091 is already in operation round the clock to provide assistance to women in distress. This is in addition to the other help line numbers 23317004 and 100 which are also available round the clock.
