Question : PARTICIPATION OF JOURNALISM IN VARIOUS SECTORS

(a) whether the access of journalists to various Ministries was restricted and if so, the reasons for the same;

(b) whether the Government proposes to allow participation of journalism in every sector with collective efforts by including individuals in journalism;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken in this regard during the last three years and the current year, State-wise;

(d) the details of the committees constituted along with the recommendations made by the said committees so far; and

(e) the details of demands lying pending in this regard along with the time by which action is likely to be taken thereon?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING (COL RAJYAVARDHAN RATHORE (Retd.))

(a) Journalists granted accreditation from Press Information Bureau Headquarters are given access to Central Government Buildings housing various Ministries.

(b) to (d) There is no specific proposal in regard to participation of journalists in every sector. However, the Government of India welcomes suggestions from public including journalists for good governance.

(e) No such demand is lying pending in this regard.
