(a) whether there is severe water scarcity in Rajasthan especially in Western Rajasthan districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer;
(b) if so, whether the Government of Rajasthan has been incurring expenditure on the transportation of water to urbanand rural areas; and
(c) if so, the measures taken therefor?

(a) As informed by the Government of Rajasthan, there is water scarcity in the districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer. The service level gets reduced further during summer season and drought situations.
(b) Yes, Madam.
(c) One water supply project in Jaisalmer district and six water supply projects in Barmer district have been taken up by the Government of Rajasthan to improve the situation.
