Question : ARTICLES TAKEN BY BRITISHERS



(a) whether the Government have prepared any inventory of valuable articles taken by the Britishers while leaving India; (B) if so, whether some of the valuable articles have been put to a unction in Britain:

(c) if so, whether the Government have taken up the issue of getting back these articles from Britain ; and

(d) in not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b) : As per the informatikon provided by the Indian Mission in London, the Government is not aware of any inventory of valuable articles taken by Britishers while leaving India. Further, it is also not aware of any of the valuable articles available with the British Government or in various museums in Britain having every been auctioned.

(c) & (d): Do not arise.
