(a) whether the Government propose to construct rest houses along National Highways;
(b) if so, whether the Government are also considering to construct rest houses along the highways of Valsad district of Gujarat; and
(c) if so, by when these are likely to be completed?

(a) : Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has a scheme to provide facilities like Passenger Oriented Wayside Amenities including rest houses along National
Highways at every 50 kilometer interval. Department of Tourism also grants
financial assistance to State Governments/UT Administrations for construction of
wayside amenities under the schemes of Product/Infrastructure and Destination
Development and Integrated Development of Tourist Circuits.
