(a) the State-wise details of the number of cases registered against the Non-Resident
Indians (NRIs) who have abandoned their wives in India after marriage during the last
three years and the current year; and
(b) the details of number of convictions, acquittals and pendency of such cases in

(b): The number of NRIs arrested and prosecuted for fraudulent marriages during
the last three years in the country as reported by the State Governments is enclosed
as Annexure -II
