Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (Dr.D. PURANDESWARI)

(a) & (b): The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act came into force from 1st April, 2010 and is being implemented in all States/UTs. The RTE Act provides time frames for implementation of norms and standards regarding school infrastructure and teachers in a school and the training of untrained teachers etc. At present, there is no proposal under the consideration of the Government to extend these time frames.
