(a) whether the Government has made any assessment of energy demand during the next five years due to fast industrialization and urbanization;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide assistance for the construction of power projects in the country; and

(a) & (b) : The energy demand forecast is made by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) through periodic Electric Power Survey (EPS). CEA, through its 17th EPS, has made year-wise short term demand forecast upto 2011-12 and long term demand forecast for the terminal years of 12th and 13th Five Year Plans i.e. 2016-17 and 2021-22. The details are as under:
