a) Whether the Government has any proposal to establish textile excellence centres in different parts of the country, especially in Tripura;
b) If so, the details thereof;

(a) to (c) : In silk sector, under the Integrated Sericulture Development Project of North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme, a component “Centre of Excellence for Capacity Building” is approved for Tripura State at GoI share of Rs. 45.00 lakhs. The project is in the process of implementation. Also, Bamboo & Cane Development Institute (BCDI) at Agartalla provides technical training to the artisans including processing facilities in Bamboo craft.
