Question : REPRESENTATIONS IN PRASAR BHARATI BOARD

(a) whether the Government received a representation from Akash Darshan Backward Classes Employees Association to include the intellectuals from SC/ST and OBC in Prasar Bharati Board;

(b) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto;

(c) whether the Government will issue a white paper in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b): Section 4(3) of the Prasar Bharati Act prescribes the criteria for appointment of Chairman and Members of the Prasar Bharati Board. The Selection Committee has to work within this statutory framework.

(c): No Sir.

(d): Does not arise.
