Question : SAFE DRINKING WATER IN TRAINS .



(a) whether the Government are aware that in some trains there is no provision for supply of safe and unpolluted drinking water for the passengers particularly in long distance trains; and

(b) if so, the remedial steps, the Government propose to take up in this regard?

(a) & (b) Safe drinking water requirements are met by strengthening arrangements at stations. Further free water pouches are supplied alongwith meals and water bottles are sold on trains from pantry cars.
