(a) whether the Government have given an assurance that the numbering systems and networks of land and mobile telephone operators newly licensed under the privatization process propose to allow public use of Telephone Number `1919` access neighbourhood eye banks all over the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): The telephone no. `1919` is allocated at present for accessing eye banks. The license conditions for the private basic and mobile telephone operators do not specifically mention 1919 for eye bank services. However, all the telephone operators, are supposed to follow this numbering arrangement.
(c) Does not arise in view of (a) and (b) above.
