(a)Whether a set of monitoring tools to provide annual information on
the quality of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) has been developed in
collaboration with NCERT as reported in The Tribune dated October 26, 2006 ;
(b) If so, the details and salient features thereof; and
(c) The other steps being taken to meet the target fixed in SSA ?

(a)to(c) : Quality monitoring tools have been developed in collaboration with
NCERT to monitor, inter-alia,student attendance, teacher availability in schools,
classroom practices and academic supervision provided by Cluster and Block
Resource Centers to elementary schools and teachers. The complete set of

regular review and monitoring of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Government of India is
also extending technical resource support to States in key functional areas and
facilitating the documentation and sharing of good practices, in order to achieve
the aims of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
