(a) whether the adequate civic amenities are not available in small cities and if so, the reasons therefor;
(b) whether the Government proposes to formulate any new plan in this regard; and
(c) if so, the time by which such plan is likely to be formulated?

(a). Civic amenities such as water and public health are State subjects. The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, through various program interventions, assist the States/Union Territories (UTs) in improving the amenities for cities including small cities.
(b)& (c). Various Centrally Sponsored Schemes/Missions viz. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (Urban), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) have been launched to improve urban infrastructure and civic amenities in various Indian cities including small cities.
