Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES
(SHRI NITIN GADKARI)

(a)to(c): The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is implementing the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) with an aim to recognize the talent, creativity, enterprise of rural artisans in variety of fields ranging from food products to handicrafts, Palmgur products, Ayurvedic Medicines, Wood & Stone carving, Khadi, etc. and to help traditional industries become more productive, profitable and capable for generating sustainable employment for the artisans. Under this scheme, traditional industries clusters including Khadi related clusters are set up. On an average, at least one cluster is targeted for each district in the country.

The scheme is implemented by designated Nodal Agencies through roping in Implementing Agencies (IA). A contribution of 10% (5% in case of North Eastern Region, Jammu & Kashmir and Hilly states) in cash is to be provided by the IA which can be Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Institutions and field functionaries of the Central and State Governments and Panchayati Raj institutions, with suitable expertise to undertake cluster development.
