Question : Development of Cities

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government supports the efforts of State Governments by providing
technical and financial assistance to States under various schemes and Programme
of Urban Development;
(b) if so, the details of assistance provided under each of the schemes to various States during each of the last three years and the current year along with the work undertaken, State-wise;
(c) whether the Government is promoting some new schemes for developing cities and town areas excluding smart cities and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the present status of the pilot project viz. Urban Infrastructure scheme with the objective to develop urban infrastructure facilities, State-wise?

(a)& (b): Yes, Madam. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) assists the States in their efforts to improve urban infrastructure and Housing through the following Missions/schemes:

(i) Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation(AMRUT)
(ii) Smart Cities Mission(SCM)
(iii) Swachh Bharat Mission(SBM)
(iv) National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY)
(v) Pradhan Mantri Awas Yogna(PMAY) and
The details of the financial assistance provided under each of these schemes during the last three years is given in Annexure.
(c) : No, Madam.
(d) : There is no urban infrastructure Scheme being implemented as pilot project.
