Question : TRANSFER OF MISSILE TECHNOLOGY TO PAKISTAN



(a) whether the Government has raised its concern over the North Korean Government’s plans to transfer missile technology to Pakistan;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the response of the North Korean Government in this regard; and

(c) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to protect the security interests of the country?

(a) Government remains concerned about proliferation of weapons of mass destruction including clandestine transfer of missile technology in India’s neighbourhood.

(b) During the Foreign Minister level talks between India and Democratic People`s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held on 13 April 2015, issues of mutual interest including India`s security concerns were discussed.

(c) The Government monitors all developments which have a bearing on national security and is committed to taking all necessary steps to safeguard the nation’s security.
