Question : Electronics Hardware Park in West Bengal

Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be please to state:

(a) whether the Government proposes to set up any electronics hardware park/manufacturing centres or courts in West Bengal;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the progress made by the Government in this regard along with funds sanctioned and spent by the Government thereon so far; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

Answer given by the minister

to (c): Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), under the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) scheme has approved two (02) Greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMCs) at Falta, South 24 Parganas District and Naihati, North 24 Parganas District in the state of West Bengal. These Greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Clusters are being developed over an area of 128.04 acres with a project cost of Rs 117.17 crore including a Grant-in-aid of Rs. 51.34 crore from Government of India. As of now, this Ministry has released Grant-in-aid amounting to Rs. 10.27 crore for implementation of these projects. Details of approved EMCs in the state of West Bengal are enclosed at Annexure.
