(a) whether the Government is aware of a diet debate raised by a defence personnel in the recent past and if so, the facts thereof;
(b) whether the Government has decided to conduct inquiries into all complaints in the defence by non-defence personnel to ensure disposal of such complaints in a transparent manner; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and if not, reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): No major complaint on sub standard diet / ration have come to notice of the Government. The authorisation and entitlement of rations to all defence personnel is done through Defence Institute of Physiology & Allied Sciences (DIPAS). Existing checks and balance mechanism is there to ensure correct quantity / quality of entitled rations. A direct feedback on quality of rations from troops is also compiled on quarterly basis by Formation Headquarters and is perused at the highest level.
