(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. The Urban Learning Internship Program (TULIP) has been launched by Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs and Ministry of Education along with All India Council for Technical Education on 4th June, 2020, which would provide experiential learning opportunities to fresh graduates in the Urban Local Bodies/Smart Cities. As on 17th September, 2020, 11,318 internship opportunities have been posted on TULIP Portal through which 225 interns have been hired and 2 internships have been completed. The State-wise details are at Annexure-I.
( c) : Government of India launched the Smart Cities Mission (SCM) on 25th June, 2015 for development of 100 cities as Smart Cities. A total of 5,151 projects at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,05,018 crore have been included by these Cities in their Smart Cities Proposals (SCPs). As on 11th September 2020, 4,903 projects worth Rs. 1,68,734 crore have been tendered, out of which work orders have been issued in 4,068 projects worth Rs. 1,31,792 crore are under implementation/completed. The status of Smart Cities projects is given in Annexure-II.
As per Smart Cities Mission Statement and Guidelines, the Central Government gives financial support to the extent of Rs. 48,000 crore over five years i.e. an average of Rs. 500 crore per city over the Mission period. An equal amount on a matching basis, is to be provided by the State/Urban Local Bodies. Apart from these, around Rs. 42,028 crore (21%) is expected from convergence with other Missions, Rs. 41,022 crore (21%) from Public Private Partnerships (PPP), around Rs. 9,843 crore (4.8%) from loans, Rs. 2,644 crore (1.3%) from own resources and remaining from other sources.
(d) : In the State of Maharashtra, 8 Smart Cities have proposed 258 projects worth Rs. 17,894 crore. As on 11th September, 214 projects worth Rs. 20,156 crore have been tendered, out of which 208 projects worth Rs. 15,932 crore are under implementation / completed.
