Question : Seaplane Services

(a) whether the Government has any provision for operation of seaplane services in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes to promote the use and manufacturing of seaplanes/floatplanes in the country and if so, the details thereof;

(d) the details of regulations/guidelines made regarding the use of seaplane/ floatplane; and

(e) the places where the Government proposes to initiate such services in the country in order to provide additional mode of transport to passengers?

(a) & (b) Yes Madam. Seaplane services can be operated under Scheduled / Non-Scheduled Air Transport Services by complying with the requirement as contained in CAR Section 3 Series C Part XII and CAR Section 3 Series C Part III.;

(c) In order to promote the use of Seaplane Services, the Government has allowed 100% Foreign Direct Investment for such services.;

(d) The operational and Airworthiness requirements for operation of Seaplane Services are available in CAR Section 3 Series C Part IX. ;

(e) The commercial Air Transport Services provider with the permission of the State Government and by following the approval process, as required under relevant Civil Aviation Requirement, may operate from any waterdrome approved for the purpose, anywhere in the Country.
