(a) whether the Ajeevika Project is still going on;

(b) if so, the details of the progress thereof, State/UT-wise; and

(c) the details regarding formation of livelihood generation groups and entrepreneurship trainings being done in Karnataka under Ajeevika?

(a) Yes, the Ajeevika Project is still going on, however it has been renamed as Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).

(b) The details of the progress under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) are provided in Annexure- I, II, III and IV.

(c) Under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), investment support in the form of Community Investment Fund is provided to Self Help Groups (SHGs) through their federations to enable women members to take up economic activities including livelihood generation groups/micro enterprises. As on 31st December, 2020, in the State of Karnataka 1,77,987 SHGs have been formed and under Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP), sub-scheme of DAY-NRLM, 1366 Producer Groups and 3 Producer Enterprises have set-up.

DAY-NRLM also has a sub-scheme namely Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) to promote entrepreneurship at village level. The objective of the scheme is to help the rural poor to set-up enterprises at the village level in non-agricultural sectors. Under the said sub-scheme, a cadre of Community Resource Persons-Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EP) has set up to provide business support services to enterprises, besides facilitating the start-up capital. Block is the unit of implementation of SVEP. 147 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have been approved to support 2.29 lakh enterprises all over the country. As on 31st December, 2020, a total of 1,25,595 enterprises have been supported. Further, SVEP AAPs have been approved for the 2 blocks of Karnataka i.e Koppal Block (Koppal District) and Tirumakudalu Narasipura (Mysore District) in October 2020.
