Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the construction of Super Speciality Hospital in Darbhanga, Bihar has been completed;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the time by when the said Super Speciality Hospital is likely to be made operational and opened for public?

(a) to (c) Construction of Super Speciality Block at Government Medical College, Darbhanga has been taken up under Phase-III of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at an approved outlay of Rs. 150 crore (Central share: Rs. 120cr; State share: Rs. 30cr). This Project involves construction of 210 bedded Super Speciality Block (including 40 ICU beds and 10 NICU & Dialysis beds) having 8 departments, viz. Nephrology, Cardiology, Neurology, CTVS, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Burns, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Neonatology, with 8 OTs and procurement of Medical Equipment.

At present, 63% construction work of this Super Speciality Block (SSB) has been completed. The operationalisation of the SSB is to be taken up by the Medical College / Government of Bihar once the construction and procurement of Medical Equipment is completed.
