(a) whether the Government have made a comprehensive list of redundant departments and surplus personnel;
(b) if so, whether the Government have set a deadline for pruning them
and saving the nation`s millions of rupees that may be used fruitfully elsewhere; and
(c) if so, the details thereof?

(a),(b)&(c): The Department of Industrial Development has been merged
with the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion. Appropriate decision would be taken to abolish redundant posts, if any, having regard to all
relevant factors.
As per the information given by the Deptt. of Personnel & Training, 234 surplus employees as on 1.4.2000 on the rolls of Surplus
Cell are awaiting redeployment.
