Question : Syllabus of BAMS Course

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the syllabus of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) Course has lesser Ayurvedic Science in comparison with the syllabus of Modern Medical Sciences, if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturers Organisation of India (AMMOI) has taken up the matter with the Government for making a comprehensive Ayurvedic Syllabus in the course, if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the response of the Government in this regard?

(a): No.
(b) & (c): A meeting was held on 14th July, 2016 in the Ministry of AYUSH with the representatives of Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturers Organisation of India (AMMOI). During the meeting the issue related to Gurukul system of Ayurveda was also discussed and it was informed that the element of standard curriculum for class XI and XII related to physics, chemistry and biology is missing in the Gurukul system of Ayurveda.
