Question : NAVODAYA VIDYALAYAS IN THE DISTRICTS



(a) whether the Government has formulated any scheme to open at least two Navodaya Vidyalayas in every districts of the States in the country;

(b) if so, the number of districts where Navodaya Vidyalayas have been opened so far; and

(c) the time by which these schools are likely to be opened in all the districts in the country ?

(a) No, Sir.

(b) and (c) 569 districts in the country have functional Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas(JNVs). For districts not having JNVs, opening of a new JNV depends on the concerned State Government making available required land for construction of permanent building and required temporary accommodation to start the school, subject further to sanction of competent authority and availability of funds.
