Question : ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR HEALTH SCHEMES



(a) the allocations of funds suggested by the Planning Commission for the Eleventh Five year Plan for various health Schemes in the country;

(b) whether the provisions made in the Budget 2010-11 for the various health schemes are sufficient to take care of increasing health problems in the country;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the details of health schemes where all allocations made was less as compared to the previous year`s Budget?

(a) to (c): Planning Commission has approved an outlay of Rs.140135 crores for Eleventh Five Year Plan for various Departments under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. For the Financial year 2010-11, an outlay of Rs. 22300 crores has been provided for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare representing an increase of 14.2% over the previous year’s allocation of Rs. 19534 crores in the year 2009-10 budget.

(d): There are three schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), Assistance to States for Capacity Building (Trauma Care) and National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme,where allocation in Budget2010-11 is less as compared to the previous year’s budgetary allocation.
