Question : BARRIER- FREE BUS QUEUE SHELTERS FOR DISABLED PERSONS

(a) whether the Union Government has provided any special assistance to various State Transport Undertakings for construction of barrier-free bus queue shelters particularly for the benefit of disabled persons;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(c) whether there is also a proposal to extend the scheme further; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Yes Sir. An amount of Rs. 1.01 crore has been released to Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), New Delhi for construction of disabled friendly bus stops.

(c) & (d) This is a continuing scheme and proposals are considered on merit.
