Question : COVID Vaccination in Assam

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the number of people administered COVID vaccine so far in the country, State/UT-wise;

(b) the number of COVID-19 vaccines so far administered in Assam including tea estate workers and other North Eastern States, district-wise;

(c) whether a large number of people are apprehensive about COVID vaccination and these people are not coming forward for vaccination, if so, the details thereof and the corrective steps taken by the Government in this regard; and

(d) the details of the funds allocated to tackle COVID pandemic in Assam and North Eastern States?

ANSWER

(a): As on 20th July 2021, a total of 32.63 crore beneficiaries have received at least one dose of CIVID-19 vaccine. The State/UT-wise details is at Annexure-1

(b): The number of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Assam & other North-Eastern States is at Annexure-2.

(c): The doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in India are amongst the highest in the World thereby indicating good turn-out of people for vaccination. Further, a communication strategy is in place which is being implemented across all States/UTs with a focus to sustain vaccine confidence and address vaccine hesitancy.

(d): The details of funds allocated to tackle COVID pandemic in Assam & North Eastern States is at Annexure-3.
