(a) whether the Government has received any requests to improve infrastructural
facilities at various airports in the country including Gorakhpur Airport;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reaction of the Government thereto, airport-
wise; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): Yes, Madam.
(b) & (c): Details are at Annex. In addition, Airports Authority of India (AAI) takes up
improvement of infrastructure at its airports based on traffic projections and capacity
requirements. Requests received from various State Governments are considered while undertaking
improvements in infrastructural facilities at various airports subject to traffic demand and
allotment of land, by the concerned State Government, free of cost and free from all encumbrances.
