(a) whether it is true that the enthusiasm in learning the humanities are
diminishing in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the details of students enrolled under
various branches of humanities during each of the last three years; and
(c) the efforts being made by the Government to popularize the humanities courses
among students?

(a) to (c): No Madam. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has informed that
the total number of students enrolled in Universities & Colleges in the discipline of
Arts/Humanities/Social Science including Languages, Oriental Learning and Area
Studies etc. (All Levels /All Courses) has increased during the last three years. The
details are as follows:
