Question : Wildlife Regions

(a) whether the Ministry has any Centralised Mechanism for the booking of Forest guest houses present across the wild life regions of the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether such mechanism will be beneficial to promote forest tourism in the country and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) No Sir. Management of Protected Areas is the responsibility of the concerned State Government. Every State has its own mechanism and in most Tiger Reserves, online booking facility is available.

(c) The Government of India is not involved in revenue collection vis-a-vis entry and stay in National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries including Tiger Reserves and it is the subject matter falling under the State Government. Guidelines for tourism in Tiger Reserves have been issued and is available in public domain at www.projecttiger.nic.in.
