Question : Auction of Mines in Odisha

(a) the number of mines auctioned in Odisha during the last five years along with the value of each of these mines that were auctioned during the said period;

(b) whether the Government plans to auction mines over the next three years in the State and if so, the details and the number of mines which are in the process of auctioning including the expected share value of each mine;

(c) the percentage and value of money earned by the Government from auctioning of mines that have been utilised for development of displaced persons in mining areas and local area development around mines in the last five years, particularly in districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj; and

(d) the amount earned under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana particularly in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts till now?

(a): As per the provisions under Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Act, 1957 and the Rules framed thereunder, the State Governments are empowered to grant mineral concessions for the minerals located within their respective jurisdiction and to collect the revenue generated there upon. The information provided by State Government of Odisha on the number of Mines auctioned in the State during the last five years alongwith the value of those mines is enclosed at Annexure-A.
(b): As per the information provided by Govt. of Odisha, Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for auction of 4 mineral blocks has been issued on 29.03.2022 and the State Government further proposes to auction 15 mineral blocks during the year 2022-23. Details of the blocks are enclosed herewith as Annexure-B & Annexure-C respectively.
(c): As per the information provided by Govt. of Odisha the percentage and value of money earned by the Government from auctioning of mines that have been utilised for development of displaced persons in mining areas and local area development around mines in the last five years, particularly in districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj is given at Annexure-D and Annexure-E respectively.
(d): Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) is being implemented through fund collected under DMFs for welfare and development of mining affected areas and people. As per the information available, the details of amount earned under PMKKKY in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts from establishment of DMF till May 2022, are as follows:
