(a)and (b) National Permit for goods vehicle has been mandated under rule 90 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989 and The Motor Vehicles (All India Permit for Tourist Transport Operators) Rules, 1993 contains provision regarding all India permit for tourist transport vehicles. The matter of Road Tax Policy for Motor Vehicles is a State Subject and Central Government deliberates on this issue with the States in meetings of Transport Development Council (TDC).
