(a): The Scheme for Integrated Textiles Park (SITP) is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Textiles and aims at addressing infrastructure constraints of the textile industry on cluster basis. The scheme is implemented in Public Private Partnership mode where GOI provide assistance up to 40% of the project cost subject to a ceiling of Rs.40 crores for common infrastructure and common facilities. For North Eastern States GOI support is provided @90% of the project cost subject to a ceiling of Rs. 40 crores for the first two projects in each of the eight NER States. State wise list of sanctioned and cancelled textile parks attached at Annexure-I.
(b): The progress of the all Textile Parks is reviewed on a regular basis to address the challenges faced by them and assist them to achieve their full potential. However, there is no specific plan for revival of defunct/cancelled Textile parks.
(c): The Union Government has sanctioned 24 textile parks in last two financial years. The State-wise detail of the twenty four parks is at Annexure-II. It is estimated that these parks will mobilize an investment of Rs. 7400 crores once fully operational.
(d): Ministry has not received any proposal for setting a textile park in District Buldhana, Maharashtra.
(e): Government is implementing a large number of policy initiatives and schemes for the modernization of the textile industry, such as the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS), Scheme for Development of Technical Textiles, Schemes for the Development of the Powerloom Sector, Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP), Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS), Schemes for Development of Silk and Sericulture sectors, National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP), Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme(CHCDS), Baba Sahib Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojna, Design and Technology Upgradation Scheme, Marketing support and services scheme, Comprehensive welfare scheme for Handloom weavers and Handicraft Artisans, Infrastructure and Technology Development Scheme, etc.
