Question : VIP PASSENGERS AT DELHI STATION



(a) the average number of VIP’s/VVIP’s passengers going to New Delhi railway station every month;

(b) whether smooth movement of trains and other works get affected due to the arrival of excess number of VVIP passengers at New Delhi railway station;

(c) whether the railways are contemplating to appoint a protocol officer to entertain the VVIP’s coming the station;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, the steps taken to reduce the inconvenience being caused to common passengers due to the visits of VVIP’s and to ensure smooth movement of trains?

(a) The statistics regarding the number of VIPs/VVIPs arriving at New Delhi Railway station is not maintained.

(b) to (e) The running of train and other functions of railways are not affected by arrival of VIPs/VVIPs and also no inconvenience is caused to general passengers on this account. The VIPs are being looked after staff/officers not connected with running of trains. There is no proposal to appoint protocol officer to look after the VIPs arriving at New Delhi station.
