THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE ( SMT. PANABAKA LAKSHMI)

(a) to (e) Yes, Sir. Review of implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) with the State authorities is an on-going exercise. Department of AYUSH had communicated scheme-wise and State-wise tentative allocations to all States/UTs for financial year 2005-06 in the month of February, 2005. It is for the States/UTs to prepare proposals and send to Department of AYUSH for availing Central assistance under various Schemes of the Department. In addition to review of the implementation of the schemes of the Department with the concerned State Health Secretaries and Directors of ISM, senior officers of the Department of AYUSH have also been assigned different States for the purpose of undertaking field visits. The Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the Department are also modified from time to time keeping in view the difficulties experienced in their implementation and requirements of States. The infrastructure and popularity of different Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy varies from State to State.

An assistance of Rs. 2332.98 lakh has been sanctioned to 22 States for strengthening and upgradation of AYUSH under-graduate and post-graduate colleges and an assistance of Rs.3006.30 lakhs has been given to 9 States for establishing ISM&H wings in district hospitals in the current financial year so far.
