(c) Urban Transport including Metro Rail is an integral part of urban development, which
is a State Subject. Hence, Metro Rail Projects are initiated/proposed by the concerned State Governments. No such proposal has been received either from Government of Tamil Nadu or Government of Karnataka. The proposals for metro rail projects received from the State Governments are considered under the ambit of Metro Rail Policy, 2017, depending on the viability of the project and availability of resources.
