(a) the progress on using bio-fuels as aircraft fuel to reduce environmental pollution;
(b) whether the Government has undertaken any study to assess the cost-worthiness regarding use of bio-fuels and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether any test flights have been conducted as a feasibility check of the proposal and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) With the concept of decarbonization of aviation sector, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has constituted a Bio-ATF Program Committee to take forward the Bio-Aviation Turbine Fuel program in the country, to promote the use of clean fuel in aviation in India.;

Spicejet, a private Indian carrier, had conducted a demonstration flight with Bombardier Q400 aircraft in August 2018 using bio-fuel blended with Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) (in the ratio of 25:75) in one engine.
