(a) Wasteland is available in 32 districts of Rajasthan and 83
districts of Uttar Pradesh. The names of the districts are given in
Annexure â I.
(b) The amount provided by the Ministry of Rural Development
for development of wastelands under its programmes during 1999-2000
upto 29.2.2000 is Rs.103.89 crores to the States of Rajasthan and Uttar
Pradesh. Programme wise detail is placed at Annexure â II.
©&(d) Projects for development of wastelands under various
programmes of the Ministry are sanctioned for implementation over a
period of five years and funds are released to the States in installments.
After the release of first installment, further release depends upon the
utilisation of more than 50% amount of the last installment. Utilisation of
released amount fully by State Governments/DRDAs can be known only
after the completion of the projects.
